Endless Thief v0.7.1
Here's a list of bug fixes, performance updates and game balance changes in Endless Thief v0.7.1:
- Bug fixes:
- The "rank upgrade" jingle plays twice when gaining a new rank, and gaining additional rank progression in the new rank through completed bonus objectives when all available skins have been unlocked
- Upper right gold progress bar in missions should show progress to 100% gold instead of only up to 70% gold
- Guard awareness sound stutters when a guard calms down and immediately becomes more aware again, most noticeable when resuming lock-picking
- Guard awareness sound keeps playing when the player moves out of range of a still-alerted guard
- Player can't sabotage traps after a mission where they got caught by an alert guard while hiding
- Guard does not calm down when the player is hidden in the shadow, but is still in the long-range vision of the guard
- Improve the guard and NPC animalese speech flow, friendly speech using high pitch and enemy speech using low pitch
- In-game tutorial messages for the first rank 2 mission does not show when a rank 1 bonus objective advances in rank 2
- Gold does not update in the custom game menu when purchasing skill upgrades
- Extinguish light progress bar shows behind the player character instead of in front of character
- Graphic glitch where the player walks on top of tree tiles when walking behind them
- Fixed background transitions in custom game menu for missions and challenges
- Performance update:
- Some rank 2 missions generate multiple light sources too close together and causes performance slow-downs
- Game balance:
- Too many guards in the first escape mission
- Allow players to spend a maximum of 6 skill points to avoid them getting too overpowered in early missions
- Change bonus objective "find all gold" to "find 70% of all gold" to make this objective more equal in effort to other bonus objectives
- Reward players for finding all gold in a mission, without making this an active bonus objective
- Lock-picking makes too much noise
I have planned to work on a series of smaller v0.7.x feature updates. That way, I should be able to release game updates more regularly.
The next update will introduce collectible coins in all challenge missions, to make them more fun and rewarding than just to reach the ending.
